Rose Studios Fall Vocal Jam

On Saturday night, Rose Studios hosted its Fall Vocal Jam at RVP Studios! It was my first recital with Rose Studios, and it was an awesome time! As a new teacher, I got to meet all of Rose’s students and their families. I was blown away by her student’s performances; a couple of her students have been recruited by talent agents in New York City and have performed in Broadway Musicals. We began the recital with a group number singing “Seasons of Love” from the musical RENT. Following the group number, around 15 students each sang 2-3 songs.

Here are some pictures from the Vocal Jam!

Rose and students are ready for showtime!

The house was packed! The crowd is anxiously waiting for the concert to start!

Here’s the list of performers and the pieces each of them sang. As you can see there are songs from multiple genres: Broadway, rock, country and classical! The concert was around 2 hours.

Rose always tells her students to “Eat the Mic!” so that they hold the microphone close to their mouth so their voice can be picked up. She put a cartoon version of Ringo, Rose’s pug and Rose Studios mascot!

Halle and Marty singing "Suddenly Seymour" from Little Shop of Horrors. What a duo!!!

Maddy sang “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” from Disney’s Frozen and she sounded just like Anna in the movie! Maddy did a great job performing, with not only a beautiful voice but with hand movements to act out the lyrics of the song! If you closed your eyes, you’d think you were listening to it on the TV!

Addison surprised the audience in her number "Stuck Like Glue" with a special guest: her mom!!!

One of my newest guitar students, Lily, has been taking lessons with Rose and has sung at The Apollo on multiple occasions. She wrote an original song “Imperfect” to a backup guitar track and I can’t wait to teach her the chords so she can accompany herself!

As a way to welcome me into the studio, Rose asked me to perform “Can’t You See” by Marshall Tucker Band at the end of the concert. We got the audience clapping and singing along and it was a perfect way to wrap up an eventful evening!

Bravo to all the performers!!!

Rose and I after the show. I am sooooo happy to be a part of Rose Studios!!!!

Rose made me this stage pass with my name with the caption “Cool Teacher” underneath it. It’s now hanging in my studio :) I can't wait to have a whole collection of stage passes for future recitals!
